Meet some of the alumni of the annual Faith Community Nursing Retreat:

The Annual Faith Community Nursing Basic Preparation Course and Retreat offers practical knowledge that is necessary to develop and implement a Faith Community Nursing practice. This gathering of an exceptional group of nurses and health care professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experiences includes registered nurses and health care professionals attending the week-long retreat. Equipped with the knowledge and International Parish Nurse Resource Center (IPNRC) certificate of attendance, the retreat participants are prepared to transform the faith community into a source of health and healing and make a difference in our communities and our world.

Held in June of each year, registered nurses working in Palm Beach County and others from around the state and as far away as New York and Kansas gather in South Florida to explore Faith Community Nursing—an expanding independent nursing practice. The first International Parish Nurse Resource Center Basic Preparation curriculum course in South Florida was held in 2005. This positive and affirming experience creates a bond that will assist them in their emerging practices. Although heavy on didactic encounters, time is also spent on group discussion, interfaith spiritual development, and individual reflection and growth.
