Meet the alumni of the annual Faith Community Nursing Retreat:

The 2006 annual Faith Community Nursing Retreat was a gathering of an exceptional group of nurses and health care professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experiences from the East Coast of the United States. Eighteen registered nurses and health care professionals attended the week-long retreat which included practical knowledge that is necessary to develop and implement a faith-based nursing practice. Equipped with the knowledge and International Parish Nurse Resource Center (IPNRC) certification, the retreat participants are prepared to transform the faith community into a source of health and healing and make a difference in our communities and our world.

Meet the alumni of the first south Florida FCN Retreat (below):

Between June 6 –10, 2005, parish nurses working in Palm Beach County and others from around the state and as far away as New York gathered at the Cenacle Spiritual Retreat Center in Lantana, Florida, to explore parish nursing—an expanding independent nursing practice. As the first to complete the International Parish Nurse Resource Center’s Basic Preparation curriculum in south Florida, these twenty (20) nurses are now designated as Faith Community Nurses (FCN) and the founding alumni of IHWA. This positive and very affirming experience created a bond that will assist them in their emerging practices. Although heavy on didactic encounters, time was also spent on group discussion, interfaith spiritual development and individual reflection and growth.
